mtairymd
The goal of the puzzle is to fit the four T shaped blocks into the box, with the pieces flat. The box itself has two sides so there are two versions to fit the pieces. The first side has a larger area so it is pretty easy to fit all the pieces into the space. This side of the box has multiple solutions. Next, you flip the box over and the sides are thicker, giving you less area to place the T pieces. Notice that the previous solutions don't fit anymore. The actual solution requires a unique pattern for the T pieces to work. Build Instructions / Directions: https://www.instructables.com/id/Four-T-Puzzle/ This video shows the solution. Skip it and don't go past the "dimensions for box" step if you want to try to figure it out on your own. T Dimensions Cut 1/2" x 1/2" strip for Ts T Parts Glue together (use extras for centering) Drying 4 Ts Box Build Box Sides (see link in intro for dimensions) Box Parts Glued it together Box - Side 1 Box - Side 2 Dimensions for box Solution 1 (larger box) Solution 2 (smaller box) - note that these dimensions won't fit in the box dimensions shown above. The key is rotation. Optional cover - not built Thanks for viewing!
mtairymd
1 hour ago, I B said: What's the most involved thing you've ever made? I'm a amateur woodworker at best so I'm slowly working up to more elaborate projects - latest interest is puzzles. I look at the projects posted on here and realize that some people have actual talent...lol. I'm also finding that I actually enjoy the design/documentation side better than running the tools. As for projects, this page shows an idea of what I've built over the last couple of years.
wdwerker
mat60 and Krtwood both work wood for a living. I'm pretty sure several others do as well but don't post much about their Pro work.

Steve and the guy that builds tables for restaurants are the only ones I can think of with woodworking day jobs. I wasn't talking about stuff like that. I was just wondering if you had some kind of wild Houdini box with hidden ninja compartments or something because you're all the time building those crazy puzzles. I get ya :). I've built a few puzzle boxes that are variations of existing designs. I also have a couple of unique ideas in my head...need to get around to making them.
