Hammer5573 Posted June 1, 2018 Report Share Posted June 1, 2018 I'm preparing to start a new project with bowed fronts.I've been burned in the past using yellow glue and the creep associated with using it. treeslayer Posted June 1, 2018 Report Share Posted June 1, 2018 They make several kinds of Gorilla glue, some that doesn't expand, personally i would look at West System epoxy, i know a lot of people on here use it with good results, kind of pricey but it has a good long shelf life. wtnhighlander Posted June 1, 2018 Report Share Posted June 1, 2018 Gorilla Glue original polyurathane is actually pretty good for bent laminations, just messy to work with. I've seen wooden coil springs made with it. The secret is understanding it is a moisture-cured glue. The guy making springs would wet the wood surface slightly, put the layers together, and bind the stack with plastic stretch wrap before bending it around the form. The plastic wrap kept the mess in check. Wear gloves anyway, that stuff is very difficult to clean from your skin. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
