Popular Post Mick S
My wife's niece asked for a large charcuterie board. Picked this small slab up a while back and decided to try flattening the back so I could put some dovetailed cleats on it for a base. Can't say enough about the 16" capacity of this A3-41. Smooth sailing.

wdwerker
Great looking machine ! What kind of wood is that ? Won't any voids have to be filled to use it in food service ?
Ronn W
My God, that's over 3xthe size of mine. I feel so under-endowed!
Coop
I’m going to guess it’s a 128 oz. filet de mesquite.
Mick S
I'm not sure what wood it is. I got it down in Albuquerque from an exotic wood dealer. I know it's not mesquite - doesn't have that telltale mesquite scent. Quite hard, so it may be in the eucalyptus family. They used eucalyptus in the mines around here for beams. Should finish up nicely, though. Steve - I do plan on filling the voids.

Coop
Mick, the arm over the cutter head, is normally in place when you have a more manageable piece, and the wood goes under It?

Yes. It raises and lowers up to about 3". Anything over that it can fold back out of the way.

Pwk5017
Ugh, I just missed out on a single phase 7.5hp 16" powermatic late last week, and this brings back pangs of disappointment. One day ill get the extra 4"....
curlyoak
I do like my jointer. An 8" delta. 20 years old. Got it new. It does most of what I need to do. A new neighbor has a big one and I have made an effort to be helpful so if needed I can get some jumbo jointer time. I call it the beast. He completely rebuilt the machine. A rebuilt 3 phase motor that attaches to the head, no belts. The bed has been adjusted to perfect and measured for flatness. Porn.
