Its funny you mention this Dave, I was just telling Kathy tonight that it has already gotten a little darker in just the few weeks it has been finished

i think the color change is like wood magic, you know what its going to look like you just can't see it for 6 months.

I love cherry the slow color change to a beautiful brown is fun to watch. There are a few things I've made that have aged quite a bit and i find myself just staring at them thinking about how they were much lighter when i first made them.

You should start a thread showing before and after color change. I'd retake some pictures to post in there. Might be super interesting.

I wish I had taken some better "progress" photos of this sideboard for that reason.  When I first finished milling the legs, one could have thought that they were pine because they were so light.  Now, with the fact that they were the first thing completed, they are one of the darker parts at this point.
