Hammer5573
I'm curious to know how many of you use full sized drawings when building your projects ? I rarely use them but I've seen them recommended by many authors. Do you make your own drawings or is there someplace where they can be printed (if not already supplied by a designer)? ..Kev
Sometimes.. Depends on the project and the needs.
gee-dub
I make full size templates for template routing and I suppose these could be considered full size "plans" for those parts. I find SketchUp answers all my questions that would normally handled by full size drawings so far.
RichardA
I draw out my plans on a sheet of butcher paper. Not always to full size, but close enough.
Mark J
Always full size, but I do small wood turnings (12" or less).
wdwerker
I pieced together 1/4 MDF sheets to draw a 85" wide x 120" tall fireplace surround wall. Client loved it because they could see the proportions. I've drawn full size so I can take dimensions right off the drawing for parts and angles too ! Llama
Only when I need to get a sense of it... Angles, ergonomics and such are easier full size. 99% of the time I just use Fusion360 to make drawings and plans.
Chestnut
I draft everything full scale in cad and usually make to scale plans for the more complicated projects. To scale plans are as helpful as full size.
derekcohen
I draw everything full size on 6mm thick sheets of MDF. Usually there is one drawing to represent the elevation, another for the plan, and then individual parts (such as legs) to aid in reproducing several pieces identically.
