James Hoysradt
I'm in process of making jewelry boxes, and have decided to try using miter lock vice traditional 45 miter cut corners. Anyone have ideas on miter lock setup? There are setup blocks on market but those don't work for the 1/2 stock i plan on using. Additionally, has anyone had any luck using this kind of router bit on oak without the terrible chipping and kickback?
bradpotts
I am not sure if these only work for this specific brand but this is what I use to set mine up. https://www.infinitytools.com/lock-miter-master-jigs
Ronn W
I use test pieces of scrap to set mine up. http://go.rockler.com/tech/45-Degree-Lock-Miter-Instructions.pdf To be honest I find that using hidden splines is easier.
