Shop time

Recommended Posts

I think you're going to find that it varies according to location and customer base.  It also depends on time for the project, consumables, and what you value your experience at.

Yea, I've seen quite a variance in other's shop rates.  It really does depend your target clients and what that market will handle.

In 1983 it was $25 an hour per employee. So if a customer wanted a board ran through the planer t was $25 even if it took 5 minutes. If it required 2 guys it was doubled.

Boat repair shops around here were 135 a few years ago, when I noticed a sign in one.

The cheapest mechanic around here is 60 an hour, but from what I've heard, the bill you get ends up more than that..

I would guess around 75, on average.
