So I guess if you are constantly marking for rabbets these might be handy, even though you probably have 3 other marking tools in the shop that you can do the same thing with, but what bothers me is all this does it help you make a mark. I suppose you could run a blade along it to pre-sever the wood fibers to achieve a cleaner cut, but if you're going to do that why not buy a marking gauge with a blade on the end? Say like the Lee Valley option (LINK). Or if you need set stop points for repeated accuracy, spending a bit more for the Jessem Wood Sabre (LINK) and get a whole level better product!
