houstonwoodworker
Hey everyone! Please see attached picture. I’m designing a cabinet and the panels will be on inside of legs. I can’t find proper door hardware that will allow the doors to swing out past the doors. Hard to explain so see the pics. Thanks for help!!! wtnhighlander
Euro-style cup hinges give a bit of clearance for such designs, but maybe not enough. Some dimensions might help with the advice.
pkinneb
I agree with @wtnhighlander. If they're recessed much more than say an 1" or so might be hard to find.
houstonwoodworker
Yes thx! I haven’t designed it exactly yet but it would be 3/4” max, probably closer to half an inch.
Chestnut
You'll need to go through the Blum concealed hinge brochure and find the right hinge and mounting plate for your situation. currently I'm getting a 404 error but it's located here https://www.blum.com/us/en/products/hingesystems/clip-top-blumotion/downloads-videos/ By the looks of it you'll need the Blum 71t6550 and the 70.6103 with a 9mm mounting plate. you can have about a 15.5 mm recess with a 25mm thick door. A thiner door may allow more recess but tests would need to be completed. You'll only be able to open to door to about 130 degrees. I order Blum from these guys a lot they have good prices and ship fast. https://www.woodworkerexpress.com/blum-170deg-clip-top-hinge-full-overlay-screw-on.html
pkinneb
Looks like Drew's got you set up with his post above. wwhardware.com is another online source. I have used those on my shop cabinets so if some pics would be helpful let me know.
houstonwoodworker
Thx so much. Have figured out that I need one that has the clearance and is inset as any overlap won’t work. I’ll check out the sites.
