@gee-dub, somewhere in here you said where you bought these. Mind repeating?

They are a Home Depot product if you can believe it.  Husky brand.  I waffled on them for a long time but so many folks on different forums were pleased with them over time that I took the plunge.  Later, since I had one, it made sense to just buy another as opposed to making a pair of shop made assembly tables like I had been planning for the last couple of years.  The parts to make a pair was almost what one of the Huskys cost so I took the plunge again.

And no one even mentioned the big, ole, patch job from my branding iron incident :D

Ah ok, I saw your mounted piece behind it and was trying to figure out what you were going to put in the new chuck, or what you were going to put in the lathe chuck while your piece was in the new chuck.

I understand now- you bought it because you hadn’t bought yourself anything in a while.

My new shop lights. Probably won't be able to install them for a few days though.

It seems that my original specced lights, between when I planned them out and when I ordered, stopped being manufactured and the manufacturer may have gone out of business? So I went for another cheap brand (Barrina) with 84+CRI.

Wait... don't you have a felder ... err hammer?

I do have a Hammer A3/31 and want a Felder AD941 but wanted to try a spiral cutter head to see how it compares with my Tersa knifes. If and its a big if I buy another J/P I want to make sure its my last and picked this one up at a discount so I can probably sell it for wat I have into it if I go that route.

That makes a lot of sense. From what i've heard though the Felder cutther head is far better than the Byrd head.

ordered a cheap 5000W electric heater as a temporary measure while working on the new shop

I have my shop heated with an electric heater.  If memory serves, 7500 Watt.  There's some advantages, instant on or off, no open flame, but expensive to run.  One trick I learned is to run the room air filter at the same time; it spreads the heated air around.
