treesner
anyone had experience adding locking casters to those metal shop cabinets? I dont have one in front of me but thinking I might need to reinforce the bottom with plywood first in the corners or the whole thing, not sure? Robby W
Be careful with that type of cabinet. The sides.cime down to sit in the floor and it doesn't take much to cave them in. They are kind of wobbly too. I would fabricate something to fit the bottom that gave good support.

Not that particular cabinet, but to put casters on something similar, I put a piece of 3/4" plywood on top of a frame of 2x6 lumber, laid flat, and attached the casters to the 2x6's. gee-dub
I agree the design of this cabinet relies on the outer edges being in contact with the floor and the downward force of the cabinet's weight being part of the structural integrity. A simple plywood platform with casters to replace the floor is no problem. The racking force not usually expected in the design of the cabinet could be problematic. Some care in moving it around could solve that.
GeneT
I know that this is not what you asked but Sam's Club carries several metal cabinets with casters already installed for a fraction of the one you cited. https://www.samsclub.com/s/storage cabinet
