Popular Post rainjer
I borrowed part of today's project from a Facebook post I saw. I have 2 HF workbench in my shop that I have modified to fit my needs. On one I had added a tool tray and Rockler F-clamp rack to the back to hold my 6" to 24" F-clamps. Someone posted a picture on FB of their HF benches back to back held together with pull latches. I like the idea but did not want to lose access to my clamps. I was looking at it my benches and I realized with the tool tray in the middle I could put the clamp racks on drawer slides and still be able to access them. Here are the results.

I used 22" the slides I had. Getting the last couple clamps out is a little challenging. I really would prefer 24" slide but they are expensive. I am also going to put a taller piece of plywood behind it so I can make a spot for my spring clamps to be stored. Today was proof of concept. I sill need to do the other end where my longer clamps are.
Coop
On the other end you could use 22” slides and mount a piece of 3/4” ply to them. Then mount 22” slides to the other side of the ply with a second piece of ply for the clamps. Kind of like full extension slides. That’s still a neat idea you have to make use of wasted space!
Popular Post rainjer
@Coop - My ultimate plan is to mount both on the same end of the bench. I would put the 18" & 24" on one bench and the 6" &12" lower down on the the other bench.

gee-dub
Nice! I would consider adding spacer blocks and latches at the bottom as well to avoid too much torque on the upper latches if the rig is moved while connected.
rainjer
I just order new casters and adjustable feet for the benches. With these casters I will have to will have to unlatch it to move it since It lifts the the bench. I don't thing I can operate 4 caster on each end simultaneously....
