Popular Post collinb
I never liked most glues for mdf. The medium tended to float and shift even while clamping it together. But this thick stuff sets up fast, the mdf doesn’t float away, and it doesn’t get sucked in like a sponge. A very suitable use for the thick stuff.
Meatwad
I was just gluing mdf the other day and it did not turn out the way I hoped. I will give this a shot next time. Thanks!

Popular Post Tom King
I've never seen that stuff before. I built this coffered ceiling with MDF, and Powergrab-no other fasteners. Coffers are about 4x5 feet, were built in the shop, and put in place with two sheetrock lifts. I'll go to great lengths to avoid sheetrock.
wtnhighlander
Tom, those coffers look awesome, but I bet those suckers are heavy!
Feemphynead
Please advise this glue is suitable to fix the metal inserts with threaded bolts in the surface of the MDF? These inserts were ripped out of the grooves in the MDF when unsuccessfully resting on the table (the fasteners turned out to be quite brittle). The table leg is bolted to these inserts. The table has one leg in the center. Will this wood glue solve the problem or still use liquid nails?
Popular Post wtnhighlander
@Feemphynead, fasteners tearing out of MDF under load is more likely due to the weakness of the MDF than the glue.
Robby W
Sometimes you can harden the MDF with CA glue, but you may have to plug and glue it if it is torn up.
