Shane Jimerfield
just sitting around collecting dust? A plane that desires to be used? A personal desire to help a guy out by selling it? I'm not looking to refurbish one, not time for that right now. I'd pay a reasonable market price for a decent Veritas, Lie Nielsen, etc... jointer plane. I really want another bevel up Veritas, but they won't be in stock again until December.
Richard Brown
I had one and sold it. Used it like twice in 4 years. I use my grizzly planer to flatten and straight line rip on the table saw.
gee-dub
The current supply chain is hard on folks trying to acquire items. This has driven the used market up quite a bit. I was going to suggest "getting by" with something like a Millers Falls No. 14 (a Stanley No. 5 sized plane) but I see their price has nearly quadrupled. Watch for a No. 6 size plane in "user" condition. Many folks sell off this 'tweener' size (also referred to as a 'Fore' plane) and it makes a decent jointer. The MF numbers would be 18 and 22 as MF numbers their planes by length in inches.
