Popular Post Dave H
I did a shop tour way back in 2011 or 2012 I'm not to sure about this and couldn't find the old post. A lot has happened since then so here is the shop today. Starting at the overhead door and sort of travel around the shop Well I really suck at this I was going to write about some of the photos as I went along but hashed that up. And I got on photo up side down.... I have no excuse for that. so if you have any questions about any of this I'll be happy give an answer.

Dave H
Well @Coop I did tidy up a bit, it doesn't always look like that, I try to keep it clean and tidy but it's a mess more than I care too admit

Mark J
Nice layout (and nice lathe). It looks like you have a dog leg extension for your banjo. Is that a Jet accessory? And what is the large disk on the wall?
Dave H
@Mark J Yes the dog leg (I wasn't aware of the name of it) was a standard accessory and was part of the kit, the disk on the wall I'm thinking is the longworth chuck I made years ago for doing the bottom of the first bowl I turned on my old Grizzly lathe it was a fun build. The disk below the lathe is a clamp I made to glue my segmented rings together it works great I keep modifying it I think I'm finally happy with it now. Thanks for asking.

Chestnut
Dang that's a good size. I'm always slightly jealous of you folks that have square shops. The floor area always seems more usable. That said my 2 hallways provide more wall space.

Popular Post Dave H
Oh You were asking about the big disk over my miter saw station, That's a saw mill blade that I bought from a guy who had it laying out in his field. I had a big log that I had at the end of my driveway after I stood it up in a 4' hole and packed the hole with gravel I sliced the log with my chain saw vertically and mounted the saw blade up on top of the log/pole because that's my brand. The log rotted out over the years so I mounted it on my wall lagged into one of the poles of my pole barn.

curlyoak
Lots of space furnished with excellent tools. Even a serious sound system! I imagine just being there is inspirational. Because you are from the pacific northwest and a woodworker does that mean that you get your share of claro walnut?

I think Claro Walnut grows more in Oregon/California area, Western Washington is more Big Leaf Maple, Alder, Ash, some White Oak and, I can see some Live Oak looking out my office window. Our weather here in western Washington is kind of gloomy over cast, lots of rain due to the Cascade mountain range it causes the clouds to dump the rain on us and, eastern Washington is more desert country lots of scrub brush and Pine trees. Thanks for the question, oh we have great summers here in Western Washington.
Ron Swanson Jr.
What a beautiful shop! I am envious of all that space! (And of course all that great equipment). A guy could do great things in a shop like that!
oldman_pottering
Mate, that is a brilliant place ! I could do with your help next time you are in Australia I like the way you have made the partitions in the tool storage shelves by adding cleats either side of the dividers, I had tried a similar setup but cut grooves for each divider and of course the shelves bowed like nobodys business
