billboard Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 A year ago I did the Shaker table build with the Guild. My wife had noticed that it had darkened, like I told her it would. I though it would be interesting to show how much it changed. It gets plenty of sunlight but not direct. Quote
sbarton22 Posted April 2, 2011 Report Posted April 2, 2011 I think that is the best part of using cherry. Quote
Pete Bennett Posted April 3, 2011 Report Posted April 3, 2011 Lovely table. But is that just the tiniest suggestion of plane ripple beginning to show on the drawer front? Quote
JayWC Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Lovely table. But is that just the tiniest suggestion of plane ripple beginning to show on the drawer front? I noticed it too TWS. It's in the before and after pics. Quote
gardnesd Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Man, you guys are rough...engineers are we? I noticed it too TWS. It's in the before and after pics. Quote
JayWC Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Sorry. Not trying to be rough. The table looks nice and definitely darkened. I think our intention is to help each other be better. And...I'm an architect so...close. Quote
Pete Bennett Posted April 4, 2011 Report Posted April 4, 2011 Like I said I love the table and the contrast in colour is remarkable. I too started out to be an Architect, but went into designing and making furniture instead. It was more an observation than a real criticism. Sometimes these ripples appear to disappear, if you take my meaning when you give everything a good sanding, but, sometimes they do re-appear, as these seem to have done. Didn't mean to offend.
