Jfitz Posted September 1, 2024 Report Posted September 1, 2024 Just wondering what people get and are paying for full extension side mount slides for shop cabinets. I feel I don't need soft close or heavy duty (the drawers are not that large). Quote
Ronn W Posted September 1, 2024 Report Posted September 1, 2024 I get mine a home depot. No need for expensive slides unless lots of weight/ 1 Quote
Botch Posted September 1, 2024 Report Posted September 1, 2024 I use a strip of wood glued/screwed into the sides of the cabinet, that the drawer just slides on (a cool variation I've been seeing more and more is just cutting an oversize drawer bottom that sticks out along each side, then cut grooves into the cabinet sides for them to slide into). You forego the "full extension" by going this way, but I just pull the whole drawer out and set it on top if I'm having trouble accessing something in the back. The price is certainly right; even with inexpensive HD slides, the costs add up quick. 2 Quote
BillyJack Posted September 2, 2024 Report Posted September 2, 2024 Sometimes you can get good deals on eBay. I think I’ve bought most of mine there… 8400 have small bearings . I’ve had problems with them.. 1 Quote
fcschoenthal Posted September 2, 2024 Report Posted September 2, 2024 I get a 10 pack (10 pairs) of 22" full extension off Amazon for $82. They've all worked well so far. Quote

Jfitz Posted September 3, 2024 Author Report Posted September 3, 2024 Thanks all. I've bought the ones from HD before (Everbilt? Or some name like that). They worked OK. I saw a listing on Amazon for a 10-pack (10 pair) for $65. Might be worth trying them out -it's a shop cabinet, so I'm not too picky. Quote
DerekMPBS Posted September 6, 2024 Report Posted September 6, 2024 You can buy 10 packs of Promark slides on Amazon for about that price. I bought a bunch of 28" ball bearing full extension (100 LB) slides for about $7 each a few years ago. They seem to work well and were easy to install. I bought them at the recommedation of James King of King's Fine Woodworking in Colorado. 1 Quote
Popular Post gee-dub Posted September 7, 2024 Popular Post Report Posted September 7, 2024 When recommending things it is always helpful to include a link. I have used some cheap hardware on shop fixtures and am still unhappy about it. Not unhappy enough to take the time to swap them out but they tick me off every time I open or close them . I just tend to watch for sales or specials on quality hardware. If there is a good offering in the size ranges I use I will pick up a few pair to have on hand. 4 Quote
BillyJack Posted September 7, 2024 Report Posted September 7, 2024 When it comes t9 full extension drawer slides, if you w@nt bulk you have to shop around. A lot of off brands are good. I personally stay away py from small bearings…. 2 Quote
DerekMPBS Posted September 10, 2024 Report Posted September 10, 2024 It looks like I bought mine in 2018. The specific pack I bought isn't available anymore. Here is the current listing. They only have the longer slides in 5 packs, not 10 packs. For reference, I paid $78 for a 10 pack in 2018. They are quite a bit more expensive now, at $90 for a 5 pack. https://www.amazon.com/Promark-Extension-Drawer-Slide-Inches-5/dp/B07WG44457/ref=pd_ci_mcx_pspc_dp_d_2_t_4?pd_rd_w=Ufn3o&content-id=amzn1.sym.568f3b6b-5aad-4bfd-98ee-d827f03151e4&pf_rd_p=568f3b6b-5aad-4bfd-98ee-d827f03151e4&pf_rd_r=STF3CT6Q3SGSWBT0M70E&pd_rd_wg=kwHI9&pd_rd_r=a3925da7-5eb6-4a15-8d2b-29b668b7f187&pd_rd_i=B07RG4GMY7&th=1 The ones I bought are actually 26" and not 28". I had to look up my purchase history to find them. Derek 1 Quote
