Popular Post feistydogww Posted Friday at 01:37 PM Popular Post Report Posted Friday at 01:37 PM The last time I was here, I was living north of Chicago. Known as "Woodwork Guy" on Twitter (back in the golden age of woodworking bloggers, like Marc and Tom Iovino), I was an avid supporter of Woodworkers Fighting Cancer and other charities, and had amassed a nice following. Ahh, those were the days... I try to make sawdust and products people like - working (and doing fairly well on) the juried art show circuit in the Midwest. In 2001, we moved to Williamsport, PA (for work). I managed to stuff my shop into the basement of a century house - from a 2.5 car garage (it's actually more efficient - and rewired!). Sadly, the market for our products dried up significantly. Central PA isn't as affluent as the Midwest, and our $150+ jewelry/keepsake boxes and other handcrafted items were of no interest (If only we sold, guns and cigarettes...). In the meantime, age caught up with me and health issues have hindered my creativity. I'm back, with a renewed interest in woodworking and a new direction - luthier. It's definitely a fun challenge, and I get to play my latest creation, and sell a few in the mean time. I was happy to be part of the group that supported Marc's new MO shop (wow!). Anyway, I look forward to the information and collegiality that woodworkers share. Cheers! 7 Quote

BillyJack Posted Friday at 04:46 PM Report Posted Friday at 04:46 PM It always dries up and then it rains again. Went in commercial, went in residential when commercial dries up, back and forth trying to keep a roof over my head. Quote

Mark J Posted Saturday at 01:02 PM Report Posted Saturday at 01:02 PM Glad to have you re-join. You'll find the group here helpful and interested. Maybe you'll post a musical instrument journal. 1 Quote
