samhell
Dust collector with the Rockler floor sweep attachment thingy. Use it all the time and its only clogged once when I tried to suck up a huge pile all at once rather than just attacking it from the side. cts1085
I use my DC - I put a separator (Thien Cyclone Separator ) on my DC and clogs are a thing of the past. Works great!
PaulMarcel
Between reading this thread and overflowing my DC last week (and therefor looking like Fozzie Bear one evening while cleaning), you guys gave me a shop project to make a separator. I think I've been avoiding that for a year now. Start today...
PurpLev
Yes, I think a separator is in order. I'll have to setup time for this as it means I'll have to mod my Jet DC to make some space for the trash bin. Thanks everyone for the input! nateswoodworks
I always sweep themup, my bench is towards the end of my ductwork and I don't want to plug it. I do have my Festool CT22 rightthere but wouldn't even consider it, between possibly plugging it and filling up the bag it wouldn't be pretty. PaulMarcel
I dug around for a link I saved for the separator I'm interested in building. Here it is: http://www.cgallery.com/smf/index.php?topic=262.0 In my case, I modified my HF DC to put a metal trash can where the dust bag was so I have to move the can over for the separator and put the bag back While it's so hot in the garage, may as well work on something productive... PurpLev
great, you got me going too, so I set this SketchUp model of what I intend to build: If anyone is interested, I also uploaded it to the SketchUp Library here: http://woodtalkonline.com/files/file/30-thien-top-sitting-baffle/ mind you, this is per my needs - a 20 gallon Brute can, and 4" ducting. you could mod it to fit your needs of course
