Nancyla Posted June 20, 2025 Report Posted June 20, 2025 Hi everyone, I’m in the middle of renovating my kitchen and bathroom and considering RTA (ready-to-assemble) cabinets to save on shipping and installation costs. I’ve been looking at brands like IKEA, MasterBrand, and Cozyhommie, but I’m not sure which one offers the best balance of quality and value. Has anyone here used RTA cabinets from these brands (or others)? I’d really appreciate your insights—especially on durability, ease of assembly, and overall satisfaction. Any recommendations or tips would be a huge help! Thanks in advance! Quote
wtnhighlander Posted June 20, 2025 Report Posted June 20, 2025 Hi, @Nancyla, and welcome. I have not used any such sources, but have heard good things about cabinetstogo.com. Quote
drzaius Posted June 20, 2025 Report Posted June 20, 2025 I've used Ikea cabinets on a couple of kitchens and liked them a lot. It seemed like they were a better value than the offerings at the home centers. Quote
Popular Post DerekMPBS Posted June 25, 2025 Popular Post Report Posted June 25, 2025 We just finished a major kitchen renovation, and for the cabinets, I used a combination of Masterbrand and Mantra knock-down cabinets. They were shipped flat packed and went together pretty easily. The face frames and sides were pre-finished, and it was all dado construction with metal clips to reinforce the joints. The drawers and cabinets were all plywood construction and the slides were undermount with soft-close and full extension. They went together pretty well once I figured out my system. I used glue in the dados and clamps to hold them while the glue set, then applied the clips. The most challenging cabinet was the upper corner cabinet, which had five sides and was a challenge to clamp, though I was able to get it using some blue tape and cauls. I estimate that we saved about $8000 by going the flat pack route over the cost of fully assembled Masterbrand cabinets for these pieces. I did approximately 18 of these units, with most of them being drawer units, so it took a while to get them all built. And don't underestimate the space it takes to store assembled cabinets and drawers - my garage was packed for a while! Derek 4 Quote
dwilliam Posted August 1, 2025 Report Posted August 1, 2025 I’ve used RTA cabinets in a couple of renovations, and they’ve held up great! Look for ones with solid wood frames, soft-close hardware, and good reviews. Brands like Lily Ann and RTA Store are worth checking out. Good luck. 2 Quote
