Popular Post fcschoenthal Posted December 27, 2025 Popular Post Report Posted December 27, 2025 OK, Paul started it in What came in the mail today, but what did everyone get for Christmas? I got a couple of little things from the kids. A new dowel plate, a new pencil sharpener and a Jessem height gauge knockoff. I also bought myself a Bambu Labs P1S (with AMS) on Black Friday, so the wife said that it was going to be for Christmas as well. I've learned not to argue the small stuff. 7 Quote
Popular Post Von Posted December 27, 2025 Popular Post Report Posted December 27, 2025 I found this cabinet in a second-hard furniture store and bought it for myself. It's two dozen 24"x15"x1" drawers and weights a couple hundred pounds I'm guessing. It used to be used at the university for holding old metal photo blocks and still had a few hiding in the back. I'm in the process of dealing with some rust and other issues before putting it into full operation. One drawer easily fit all my taps and dies. Twenty-three to go... 7 Quote

Popular Post Coop Posted December 28, 2025 Popular Post Report Posted December 28, 2025 My son gives me a new Old Timers pocket knife each year. I date the current one with a Sharpie and have quite the collection. I picked out a Carhartt logo hoodie sweat for my wife to give me. May use it once a year in our weather but it’s neat. For the shop, my daughter and grandkids gave me something called a Turtlebox. It’s suppose to play music thru Bluetooth from my phone? I guess I’ll enroll in the local elementary school when they return from the holidays so I can learn how to use it. 3 3 Quote

Popular Post JimB1 Posted December 29, 2025 Popular Post Report Posted December 29, 2025 Got a few woodworking things for X-mas this year, the Snappy Tools handyman set for Centrotec chucks and two books "Complete starter guide to making wooden boxes" and "Turning boxes with Friction-fitted lids" They were on my list because I am looking for some small, decorative box making inspiration for the new year. 5 Quote

The book that got me started with decorative boxes is “Basic Box Making” by Doug Stowe. I still refer to it now and again. 5 Quote

Popular Post Tom King Posted December 31, 2025 Popular Post Report Posted December 31, 2025 Santa's helpers were so busy before the end of the year that they had to pull long extra days, including late tonight and the driver said all day tomorrow too. 4 Quote
