legenddc Posted April 20 Report Posted April 20 It’s been a long day and I’m blanking on the way to trim the ends of some shelf edging. I remember there’s some trick but searching keeps bringing up L fences. 2 Quote
Popular Post wtnhighlander Posted April 20 Popular Post Report Posted April 20 Clamp a block to your fence, align the fence so the block is flush with the opposite side of the blade. Lock the fence, then move the block near to the infeed side. Guide the shelf with a miter gauge or sled, align the shelf edge against the block, with the edge vand hanging over. Works like the L fence, but is in plane with the cut, not above it, so the shelf lays flat in the table. 4 Quote
curlyoak Posted April 21 Report Posted April 21 I do those cuts on my radial saw. I pull the saw out. then move the shelf so it touches barely. Fire up the saw and move it back past the fence. Mostly the same with a chop saw. 2 Quote
legenddc Posted April 21 Author Report Posted April 21 Thanks! As you can imagine, I decided if I didn't have the brainpower to figure that out, I shouldn't be operating power tools. 2 Quote
