oldman_pottering Posted April 27 Report Posted April 27 anyone using these or used these and find they don't hold ? Quote
Popular Post gee-dub Posted April 27 Popular Post Report Posted April 27 Mine have worked fine for many years but they are definitely a very light duty clamp. Like Irwin Quick Grip clamps I use them more as a third hand and would not rely on them for a glue up. They are great for holding onto something until I can put an acme screw action clamp on it. 3 Quote

gee-dub Posted April 27 Report Posted April 27 For stop blocks and other critical situation I would use t-track locked blocks, MatchFit blocks or some other fence clampable item. I know things like router table fences and drill press fences can present problems for clamping but you have to pick one. I have Bessy Gear Clamps which do not deliver a large amount of clamping power but are pretty flexible in awkward situations, KantTwist style clamps are also use useful for these things. All are fairly specialised but so are the circumstances. Whatta ya gonna do? 1 Quote

Popular Post gee-dub Posted April 29 Popular Post Report Posted April 29 This one made out of scrap has worked out pretty well for me; stop block that is The trick is finding a clamp that will get a good grip on a router fence. I finally just topped mine with a couple sections of t-track. Shop solutions are great and I have a bunch. Sometimes a commercial solution is the best answer though. 4 Quote
