Vic
Went to one of my favorite places yesterday. Got to see Mark, my sawyer. Yes, I like to think of him as my very own personal sawyer. He awesome. Knows all the local hardwoods and sells some amazing stuff at very decent prices.

Vic
Btw...the Maple boards are 5/4 and were $10/board foot. The Birch is all 8/4 and was $3.73/bd ft, a little more for the curly than the crotch boards. I also got the "God, you're here again?, cash discount"

Vic
Mark Jensen, my sawyer (love saying that) was quite upset talking about the Maple boards. When he had arrived several good size logs had already been cut for firewood! Crazy people!!! I have no idea whether it would work, but it might be worth a call to him if you have something you're looking for. Nowadays, photos over the internet make shopping very easy. Contact me if you want his information. Btw, walnut is probably his largest stock. He has many other types. He has contracts with the local tree services for logs and Walla Walla is a pretty old town...lots of nice trees.
