ryandetzel 2
It's a vertical board that hangs on the wall. Pretty cool idea and it should be pretty basic to make. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004G0QNP6/?tag=047-
ChetlovesMer 342
Interesting idea. Although, I think if I were to do it I would have gone with a horizontal version. I think playing Chess from the top to the bottom would be wierd. Playing horizontally would be more natural to me. But that's just my opinion. It would be an easy modification I think. Anyway, good luck with what looks like a cool project.
JayWC 21
I agree 100% Chet. Horizontal would be much more intuitive to me. If it was the way posted, I'd always want the bottom player. Playing down from the top seems awkward to me. Then again...how much of what we do in woodworking isn't awkward? LOL
Beechwood Chip 568
I'd add a flag to tell whose turn it is. That way, each person could make a move as they passed by. For two people who want to play at the same time, why would you want to stand next to the wall when you could sit at a regular chess board?
CubsFan 5
I like it. I might make one of those. I don't think I could make the chess pieces, so does anyone know where to find a good set of them?
ViolinMagick 0
That's awesome!

I was thinking of doing a 3D checkers and possible scrabble board too.
Ben@FineWoodworking 4
Really wish you would have posted this a few weeks ago when I'd still have time to make one for Christmas. Awesome idea. (null)
