cosmocyb
We are all looking for a way to save money. These F=style clamps and pipe clamps may just be the way. They are made by Michigan Industrial tool. I don't own any yet but will. I think that they would be great for small simple projects. http://catalog.bostonindustrial.com/viewitems/hand-tools/bar-clamp?&bc=100|1263|1283 http://catalog.bostonindustrial.com/viewitems/hand-tools/gluing-clamp?&bc=100|1263|1283
Ben H
Hmmm.....they look VERY close to the Harbor Freight clamps I've seen in the store. Probably not a bad clamp, but you might want to look at HF clamps as well, they'll more than likely be ever cheaper.
mlingenfelter
The F style clamps look ok. The thing I don't like about the pipe clamps you show, is the "handle". They have those thin floating rods. I've had some of those, and they don't work that well. I like the Jorgensen/Pony clamps, that have the fixed cast handles. cosmocyb
I just found them, I understand your concern. I just put it out there.
mlingenfelter
I own a few Bessy K-body clamps. I really like them but they are expensive, and sometimes getting them to engage can be a pain. I'm really liking the pipe clamps even more these days. They are somewhat cheap and you can buy different length of pipe and just move the heads around as needed. Mike

Mike ATB80 probably meant to show the 3/4" pipe clamp on the same page. On ATB80's pipe clamp link, if you scroll down slightly, you’ll see the 3/4" pipe clamp with the crank style handle for only $1.88 more than the 1/2” bar style handle pipe clamp. http://catalog.bostonindustrial.com/item/hand-tools/gluing-clamp/3946?&bc=100|1263|1283|1384
jab73180
i have a local discounter that sells those exact clamps and i have buying them. they work really really well. the bar clamps are big and beefy. the 3/4 pipe clamps are pretty good, the sliding part grips very well. the only thing that bothers me is the screw part. some screw effortless and some are a lil dry. its nothing bad but it could be just a lil better. http://www.mallsidediscount.com/store/index.php?start=12&category=6&subcategory=105&sortorder=entry_date DESC these guys sell for $8 and the pony clamps at HD are $13. I know people are gonna say just pay the extra few bucks for the pony. well lets do some math here, for $104 i can either get 8 ponys or 13 of these ones. Thats more than a 60% savings for a few bucks less and more clamps. just my mind over thinking.
jimmykx250
speaking of clamps. Did any of you catch the episode of this old house where tommy silva was glueing up some solid pvc window frames and he had a bunch of those yellow parallel clamps. I have never seen them in the stores and they didnt have a name on them or atleast that i could see. Just wondering. Also have any of you purchased the parallel jorgensen clamps at menards? They sell them really cheap but i have never seen a review on them. Just playing with them in the store they seem like quality. A bit heavy though, i think my 3/4" pipe clamps are lighter?!?!? I do have some of the Jorgys that you can get at Menards. They are nice clamps.. Definitely worth the price. They are a little heavy, and are kind of a pain to open sometimes, but I would get them again..
