Freddie
What did everyone receive today from family and friends and santa? Any cool new shop toys you wanna brag about
thewoodwhisperer
Sadly, I no longer receive anything shop-related as gifts. Once they became a write-off for the business the whole idea went out the window. Although Nicole did buy me some awesome metal signs featuring classic comic book characters! So I guess technically that's for the shop.

Bobby Slack
Nothing for the shop, other than my Virus first layer clothing www.virusintl.com which I asked my wife to get me so I can be warm in out unheated Redondo Beach garage. I got a coping saw from Tools for working wood. Pretty easy nothing major.
CessnaPilotBarry
I'm pretty close to fully tooled, but I did receive some gift cards that may go towards "not necessary, but nice to haves..." An LN rabbet block plane might be on my list. I have several excellent block and shoulder planes, but the rabbet block would be great on longer tenons. rodger.
The wife bought me a low angle block plane (veritas) with the new alloy blade. Pretty sweet!
tombuhl
Santa brought two Auriou rasps. Long been on my list, but hadn't gotten to the top...until now. Gave them a bit of a test drive today. Lovely sound of teeth cutting wood, rather than just sort of mushing it into a shape. Plenty of smiles in the shop today. So I got some gift certificates but they were all to different stores

I've been wanting to get a pair and I've been struggling over which two would be the ultimate in versatility...

Jfitz
Nothing for the shop - which is fine, because short of me buying it and having her wrap it she wouldn't really have a clue on what to get for me. I'll be hitting the computer over the next few days looking for end of year deals and specials.
Eric.
Santa brought me permission to go on a three day fishing trip, starting tomorrow. How does this apply to woodworking? Absence makes the heart grow fonder...it's true of shops, too. Also got a tenoning jig and a handful of Rockler gift cards.

knotscott
Nothing for the shop this Christmas, but I did build myself a zippy new computer with my Christmas money, which will be used primarily for surfing woodworking sites. (the PC is faster, but my typing isn't!)

nateswoodworks
We don't really exchange gifts for adults but I did get my FWW subscription renewed so now I can take the money I would have spent for that to help pay for new hold downs for the roubo I'm building! Wayniackc
I scored. Got the Grizzly router table that fits in my table saw extension table and the smaller Grizzly dust collector (I have a small shop so thought this was the best solution for now). Also received an Intcra miter guage, the Inctra jig for box finger joints, and a Taunton book on box making. Not a bad haul if you ask me.
