I live in the Pacific Northwest and there are a lot of logging trucks on the road. One day while driving home I was behind one of these trucks loaded with cut lumber and I thought all the end grain looked interesting. That was the inspiration for this piece.
Another goal for this one was to see what I could make out of simple 2x4 stock. Overall it came out pretty good. I certainly learned a lot on this one.
During the process I discovered a particular end grain that was repeatable and it made a pretty cool pattern.
