Cedar chest

This chest was designed to hold a 5 ft. wide futon mattress when not in use. I designed it with cedar 2x4's in mind. All the wood is milled down 2x4's from Home Depot and Lowes. I finished it with several coats of glossy tung oil.

Hi Sam. I love it!

I am about your age and at the same stage in my life, gave away hi stress and now I tell people when they ask what I am doing, "just sitting on a park bench and thinking about what I want to do with the next 20 years".

People I used to work with think I'm independently wealthy now that my time is what I make it, not what the clock makes it! I am definitely not 'wealthy' by their standards, but I sure feel so when I'm doing what I want to be doing:). Sam
