Pbmaster11
WTO'ers, I have the HF 2hp Dust collector.... when i move in the next month or so to my new home I would like to setup perminant DC piping. The port off of the DC is 4"... do you recommend keeping that at 4" or enlarge it to 6". Would this be benificial or make no sense being it is still being reduced to 4" at the intake? TheNehlsEnd
I think you would lose velocity if you bumped up to the 6" pipe. Is there a 5x4x4 Wye on the collector? If there is you might jump up to a 5" pipe and be okay.
brtech
Yes but 5" duct is expensive. Some ideas independent of the size you choose to install are: * (most important) upgrade the filter to a .5 micron one. Wynn Engineering is the regular source * Put the DC in the middle of the main line, rather than at the end * Don't use any 90 degree angles, use only 45s with a short length of straight duct * Minimize use of flexible duct * Build a Thein separator
