Shows where the CMS will go ... in front of a boxed-in area between the studs with large dust collection port in back. I think that this space will even hold one of those large 12" sliding CMS ...

Very nice, clean design. I have an older 12 inch sliding CMS from Dewalt. I had to put my dust collector hood on rails, as the hood had to travel side to side when doing angled cuts. The rails on the Dewalt really are long and when traversed, conflict with the sides of the hood. I also had to create a curtain of heavy plastic PVC stips on the opening of my dust box. I found that in use that the 12 inch blade threw the saw dust with such force that it was actually hitting the back of the box and bouncing out the front again before the dust collector could catch it. It was the most bizarre thing. Your box looks a bit deeper than mine, so you may not experience that effect. The PVC strip curtain actually deflected and slowed down the saw dust or caught it as it bounced off the back so the dust collector could catch it.

I still have the saw, but in my new shop I'm rethinking the whole dust collector hood sliding on rails. Making the box slide allowed me to keep the collection area smaller and thus, keep the vacuum pressure up. A taller, wider, deeper hood style box would be easier, but vacuum would be problematic and I'm not sure how much fine dust it would collect.

Again, excellent workmanship on the bench.
