This is the Milwaukee Road 261, a still functioning (again, go to 261.com for more on that story) coal fired 4-8-4 locomotive based in Minneapolis, MN. In 2007 my best friend and I got to ride behind it on a roundtrip excursion in which it was part of a double header.
