Salvatore
Hello, guys. Sorry if this has already been posted or deleted or what have you, I don't have any history of this being posted and I know the site was glitchy recently, so forgive me if this is a double post of what have you. But I was wanting some help, see, I've got some Quina and only 2 finishes to apply. Beeswax which I melt into the surface, or Tung oil. Quina is an oily wood so the tung oil doesn't really work well as one can imagine, and with beeswax I typically take a very low flame lighter and move it around quickly in order to melt the wax. Thing is, I got these blackish bubbles, so I assume the oil in the wood caused that bubbling as a direct response from the heat. So cutting to the chase, any ideas as to how I can finish this wood? These are currently the only two finishes I have available to me, but I'd be open to suggestions as long as those options are food safe. Thanks!
