dmwechs
I was just curious if anyone here had any recommendations on how large of an air compressor I should upgrade too. I want to get into some spray finishing... and I don't want to have the sprayer outrun the compressor...
dwacker
Depends on what you want to spray and what guns you have. Usually a 5hp 30g is ok for a home shop but the small tank is going to require better water traps. Don
Joraft
I bought a Kaeser 5C Airtower. It's 5hp rotary screw compressor with a built in refrigerated dryer. These things run so quiet that you can stand next to them and hardly tell when they're running. http://us.kaeser.com/Products_and_Solutions/Rotary-screw-compressors/complete_package/airtower/default.asp

Joraft
AND they're affordable! Amortize it over a lifetime and it ain't all that bad. Besides, what's it worth to have a powerful, well built compressor that is extremely energy efficient, puts out absolutely dry air, and you could run in your living room and still hear the TV.
