rodger. Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 After watching marcs podcast on this, I am going to get the regular dust deputy kit for my shop vac. I thought maybe about buying the super dd as well, for my 1.5 HP dc. Has anyone tried the super dd? I am bit worried about the extra static pressure it will add, as the air has to pass through more "stuff" to be collected. Quote
Eric. Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 I have one on my 2HP DC. Works well. Quote
pagel Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 Same here. It works great with my 2hp DC as well. Quote
rodger. Posted September 26, 2012 Author Report Posted September 26, 2012 After doing dome reading on bill pentz's site, it looks like the minimum SP loss for a cyclone is about 2.25, and that can increase to about 4 depending upon the unit. As fas as I can measure (with Bill's spreadsheet), my SP loss is already at about 3.75 (I call it 4.0 to account for misc error). According to the various magazine reviews and tests (FWW and WM), I am permitted to reach about 4.5 static pressure before I fall below 840 CFM. Looks like I cannot install SDD without losing the magic numbers of 800 and 4000. Bummer. I will have to spring for a full cyclone I guess (eventually). Thanks for your input guys!
