The wife has me building some cabinets for her and although I've painted them white and they look nice she would like the glass smooth finish that the bathroom cabinets have. The cabinets from what I can tell have no brushstrokes but are obvioulsy painted. Any professional guys know any tricks that could be passed on? I had planned on using my earlex 5000 HVLP gun to spray the latex paint and possibly spray a waterbased topcoat to finish them out. would that get me the glass smooth finish or no?

Thanks

I would spray the above, its a pigmented acrylic and should lay down smooth. Then for added protection, you could spray a good top-coat like a General Finishes High Performance, this would help with any metal marking.

So is the general finish acrylic pretty thin or does it need to be thinned?

You shouldn't have to thin...but here click on the Tech Data Sheet :) Don't freak out when reads "Enduro Pigmented Acrylic Lacquer" its the same thing. I believe General Finishes is changing some of the brand names, but don't hold me to it :)
