ngabriel
I've been trying to put together a shop over the past 6 months and since I'm starting with almost nothing, I've been trying to save a bit of money by buying slightly used equipment (at least for certain tools). Someone nearby is selling an 18" 1.75HP Jet bandsaw (http://www.jettools.com/us/manufacturing/en/product.html?node=4521&product=273470) for a decent price (~40% less from what a new one would cost). Since I'm new to all of this I'm hoping to get some advice on things to be aware of (or beware of) and good questions to ask so that I dont end up getting ripped-off. Also kind of interested to know how much this stuff tends to depreciate by to really get a sense on how fair the price is. Thanks
rmac
The current issue of Fine Woodworking has a good article on evaluating and buying used machinery. Check it out! -- Russ

I gave away my 3/4 HP Grizz because it was a POS. How can you go wrong with JET?
