Sara
Hi all and thanks in advance. I bought a desk that I want to refinish into a rolling kitchen island. I sanded the top as it had only stain and not sealer/varnish. The sides and legs had a varnish over the stain so I used a stripper. Now it’s all gummy and goopy. I removed what I could then used steel wool. Still icky. Then tried mineral spirits on a cloth…bad idea?? The legs are twisty and hard to scrape. Any suggestions would be great
wtnhighlander
My experience with chemical stripper, even the 'environmentally friendly' types, is always like that. I just wipe or scrape off what I can and re-apply. Rinse and repeat until it is clean. A stiff nylon brush helps with the nooks & crannies.
