Cutting noards Posted October 19, 2021 Report Share Posted October 19, 2021 Hello all I’m trying to make a cutting board with turquoise inlayed I have the food safe stain and oil for the wood but my question is should I stain before I inlay or should I inlay then stain carefully? wtnhighlander Posted October 19, 2021 Report Share Posted October 19, 2021 If you expect this to be a working kitchen impliment, I would avoid both the stain and the inlay. If it is decorative, my inclination would be to inlay first, and mask the inlay before coloring the surrounding wood. Depends on how much smoothing will be needed after the inlay is inserted.
