Ryobi AP-10 10" Thickness Planer Power Cord

Has anyone ever changed out their power cord for a Ryobi AP-10 10" thickness planer?  Mine has cracks in the insulation and is in poor condition.  Looks like I'd have to take the machine all apart to do it.  Any tips would be appreciated.  Thanks.

The diagram at ereplacementparts.com doesn't make it appear too complicated. But that is a parts diagram, not a repair manual, so there may be some detail missing. I would definitely tackle the repair over working with a damaged power cord.

Thanks for spending the time to send a reply.  I'm just reading this a couple years later.  I do have that diagram and will attempt to take the machine apart.
