rlaird
Constructing a canning / honey-processing cabin of stacked rough-sawn SYP 4x6 timbers for wife. During the nearly two years of stacking walls, building roof substructure and closing gables, it had developed a good case of the "blues". Got it now dried-in now and walls pressure washed & bleached inside and out, so want to seal the walls before doing floors. Question is about sealant choice: thinned poly via sprayer vs. something like Flood Clear Wood Finish (oil base) with garden sprayer (have done the latter multiple times in the past on a ceader board & batten house). Figure will need to repeat every few years regardless of product. All thoughts / suggestions about good sealer choice welcomed and appreciated. rjl Attached thumbnail(s)
BuilderBill
We use Sickens SRD on all exterior wood and recommend recoating every two-three years depending on exposure. We brush it on, you can spray or roll but you have to back-brush anyway. HTH, Bill
