Arnosaur
I know there are several woodworking schools and academies that offer various classes from weekend workshops to full graduate programs. Clearly there are some online guld/ instruction here offered by Shannon and Marc- (What's the deal, Matt? Let's get that fan club up and running!) But I am interested in classes that deal with larger scale projects, like timber frame structures and traditional joinery techniques for buildings. Most of the instruction I see is at the furniture project scale or smaller. Does anybody know which programs offer instruction or workshops in traitional woodworking structure design and construction? Thanks, Andy

Onboard
Andy, you said: “…I am interested in classes that deal with larger scale projects, like timber frame structures and traditional joinery techniques for buildings.” Assuming you’re not looking for a school of carpentry, and are focusing on timber frame and post and frame, then I dredged up a few links below that you can look through. I know there are more out there, but this will give you something to look at to see if they are anywhere near what you had in mind. I don’t know anything about these classes and schools. http://www.postframeadvantage.com/pub/Online-University - Online http://www.logandtimberschool.com/ http://timberframesales.com/Timber%20Frame%20School.htm http://www.heartwoodschool.com/ http://www.schooloflogbuilding.com/ http://www.drytimber.com/school.htm http://www.northhouse.org/courses/themes/timberframing/

Arnosaur
Thanks for the replies. I was out of town for a bit, but I am particularly interested in that Homestead one. The October class looks perfect. Thanks again. Andy
