DennisL
Due to a lack of space and a need for mobile power tools I got myself a combo tool. It is the Smithy Super Shop. http://www.smithy.com/index_inside.php?id=238&type=supershop The first time I used it I realized that I needed an outfeed table for the table saw function. My problem is that the height of the blade is set by raising or lowering the table and not the blade, so the outfeed table would have to move up and down. If you have any ideas I would love to hear them.
rmac
Here's one possibility: http://thesorteddetails.blogspot.com/2011/04/bandsaw-outfeed-table.html Maybe not the most convenient arrangement for your situation, but it might get the ideas flowing. The "official" way: http://www.angelfire.com/electronic/funwithtubes/Woodworking/ss_outfeed_table_mounting.html Actually pretty similar to the previous one. And a kit with plans from some guy on eBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Outfeed-Table-compatible-w-all-Shopsmith-models-/320730660305#vi-content -- Russ
Beechwood Chip
There's also this and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wXKgedybpvU, if you want a full fledged table that has a convenient adjustable height feature. If you google for woodworking table scissor jack adjustable height you'll find a few examples.
DennisL
Thanks for the advice, I was really at a loss on this one. I think that first on is probably the way to go, but it seems like it should have two legs to make it more stable. Either way I don't have to get my roommate to come catch wood for me anymore!! NotAShakerMaker
I have a Shop Smith and they have an out feed support table that attaches at the table rails and has one leg that goes to the floor with a T shaped foot. Here is a link: http://www.shopsmith.com/ownersite/catalog/swd_supporttable.htm It works well, but is not perfect. Good Luck!
