metalglasses
This is what happened, I built myself a tv stand with alder and used minwax cherry 235 stain. I used dovetail on the corners and mortise and tendon for the shelves. I applied stain on the project in the morning and checked it out before I went to hit the sack. I just noticed that the dove tails where not flush. I didn't think at this moment but I got the sander out and smoothed it out to 220 grit. I applied the stain and I sanded sticks out and now it really bugs the hell out of me. Could I 1. apply the stain again but let it sit for a little longer? 2. sand the outside surface and stain again to match or 3. did I just ruin my project from a newb knee-jerk reaction? dcustoms
You didn't ruin your project. I would try option 1 and get it to match. If that doesn't work go with option 2.
