JoshC1501
Has anyone ever built one of these? Any reason you see why it wouldn't work? I got my tablesaw sold, going to be without one for about a month. Thinking this might be a good time to really get my money worth out of my bandsaw. I have a regular mitre guage that I use sometimes, but it pretty easy to get bad cuts using it.
Eric.
Crosscuts for what? I think I'd just use my miter saw...if you don't have a miter saw, use the cheapo miter gauge that came with the bandsaw then finish on a shooting board. You won't get joint-ready cuts on the bandsaw, so I'm not sure I see the point...unless I'm missing something for some specific purpose. JoshC1501
I think that answers the question. It is a matter of joint ready cuts. Didn't even think about that.
dwacker
I got to play with a bad ass Griggio slider a few weeks ago. Now that is a nice toy, not real useful but definitely cool. Was odd cutting the opposite direction of a normal saw.
CessnaPilotBarry
I've made simple bandsaw sleds for specific tasks, like slicing dowels and built-up inlays, cutting dovetail pins, cutting shims, or cutting tiny parts, and most worked worked well. But for general joinery crosscutting, not so much...
