Cyclone

Hi all. I would like to build my own cyclone dust system, has anyone done this and how easy is it.

Any pointers would be great

I'd consider building a Thien Separator instead. much easier and less expensive, and takes less space. I don't know of any comparisons between a Thien and a cyclone for air resistance and %age particles extracted.

Thanks all for the info plenty to keep me going. This will be a project for just after Christmas as I am making a rocking horse at the moment along with various bits for presents.

I built mine from plans off of Bill's website. I was able to lay it out, cut, form and assemble it in one day including caulking the seems. It's 20" in diameter and I built a blower housing for the 16" impeller that I bought from Clearview. That took another day to complete.

That guys shops is amazing. With the tiny space that he has, it's incredible what he's done with it. It took a minute looking around his site to figure out he's in Japan, so no wonder he's in such a confined space.
