Juicegoose
Doing some doors over the weekend got me thinking how much easier it would be with a nice rail and stile door bit set. Can anyone recommend from personal experience a good setup?
Bobby Slack
All my router bits are CMT. I am aware that many on this forum prefer Eagle America http://blog.eagleamerica.com/blog/random-woodworking-thoughts/0/0/build-your-own-cabinet-door-set and frankly one of the things I like from CMT is that I can call them and ask for advice, probably Eagle America is just as good. The door set I use is ... http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=cmt+door+set&oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=7847401549254080029&ei=3vPGTLWECY6WsgPg07XTDQ&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=5&ved=0CCwQ8wIwBA# Now, having said all of that, most of my doors are now sort of a square stick shaker style so I don't use this bits as much. I build my doors square stick and then I modify them with a block plane and a float to make them more organic and rustic.
DALSAW
Well before I switched to a shaper to do all of my doors I used the Freud 3 pc bit sets, you can get them from Rockler There about $180.00 a set but they are real easy to set up and produce an excellant quality cut.
