Brendon_t
Strippers of stain of course. . I have been working on a solid oak door with deep raised panels. The stain that I used on the panels looked great in a small area but has turned away too dark on a larger surface. Only the 4 inside panels are currently strained. My question is with proper chemical stripping / sanding, will I be able to lift enough stain out that when I stain the entire door it won't look ridiculous. Keep in mind I have not had the need to strip stain up until now I am hopig to go from golden oak to colonial maple. .
AceHoleInOne
Using an oil-based stain...if so have you tried to a rag damp with mineral spirits and remove some of the dark color folding the rag keeping it clean as you wipe and blend? -Ace- Yes a chemical stripper will do the job.
