a1606myrsclm
I'm building a built in cabinet with a face frame construction and the top will be a raised panel door. The dimensions of the door is 16" wide by 43" tall. Is there a rule of thumb for the size of the rails and stiles? The face frame width is 1 1/2". The vanity in the room has raised panel doors, should I match those? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
wdwerker
If the new cabinet is going,to be finished the same as the vanity then I would match the doors. 2 1/2 or 2 5/8 wide frame should be plenty. Don't forget to allow for the panel to expand & contract in width. I only put one pin in the bottom and top from the back.
Scottish07
If you are using euro hinges you would want a t lest 2 inches for your rail/stile. Anything less and you might drill into your panel. For kitchen cabinets I always go with 2 inches. My face frames are 1 1/2 inches.
