Popular Post mtairymd
This is my take on a classic rope and ring disentanglement puzzle. The goal is to separate the ring (the light colored one) from the puzzle strings. As with most disentanglement puzzles, the solution isn’t intuitive. Can you figure it out from the pictures? If not, refer to the video at the end for the solution. The dimensions are pretty arbitrary and you might have better ways of building it but I've included more details (drawings) here: https://www.instructables.com/id/Disentanglement-Puzzle/ Build Process I'm always willing to learn so please feel free to critique my methods. Used a 2 3/8" hole saw for the rings Router used for the chamfer - not required for puzzle This one looked fine but I had burn marks on the lighter colored wood. Suggestions? 1.5" hole saw for inner diameter Added a 1/4" dowel in center hole Placed in drill press for sanding 1.5" hole saw for inner diameter Worked pretty well. The cap and removable ring are similar in construction. Used a reverse counterbore tool for this hole Base is pretty straight forward Ready for build. Ignore the beads - I scraped that idea Glue post into base Tie knots at end of paracord and pull into counterbores. I used a lighter to seal the knot Add pieces over post. Add the cap. Base string attachment. Plugged holes with 1/2" dowels Solution. Thanks for viewing!
